About
Andrea has over 15 of experience working with communities across Canada to ensure community perspectives shape the policies and projects that impact them, and that local governments understand those perspectives to support their decision-making.
She is a licensed IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) trainer and registered professional planner. Designing meaningful and inclusive engagement processes has been central to her career in local government and as a consultant.
She has led engagement and community relations teams at Metro Vancouver Regional District and the City of Vancouver, where her work spanned community engagement for large-scale infrastructure projects and policy development for housing, liquid waste and transportation. She has also engaged communities through city-wide visioning and official community planning processes.
In her local government roles, she helped build internal capacity for community engagement through process design, staff coaching, and training.
Her consulting practice continues this work, partnering with local governments and other organizations to design and deliver community engagement programs and to strengthen organizational capacity for engagement.
Andrea is based in the Comox Valley, BC, on the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
